Everyone loves a good dip. When it comes to the world of dips, there are a number of ways you can go. For example, for those who prefer the healthier side but still want a taste of creamy, tangy decadence, hummus spread is the way to go. Similarly, many opt for guacamole dips for their creamy decadence yet surprising health benefits.

But what about salsa dips? Salsa is an ancient food, dating all the way back to the Mayans, Incans, and Aztecs. When the Spanish conquistadors came to the Americas, they adapted the recipe and it spread, becoming the salsa that it is today.

So what’s in salsa, anyway? Salsa is a simple yet delicious food. The original salsa recipes included tomatoes, chilies, and spices. Since then, salsa and hot sauces have taken off, and in the United States, salsa recipes have adapted like crazy. For example, there are some hot sauce and salsa recipes so spicy, that people actually cry after consuming them. On the other hand, some salsas have fruit in them, and are so sweet that they are almost a chutney or jam of sorts.
In light of this, here is a delicious, spicy yet sweet fruit salsa that will go with every taco, chip, and fish dish you can imagine!

Mango Salsa
-One mango, chopped
-1/4 red bell pepper, chopped finely
-1 heirloom tomato (orange or yellow) chopped
-1 red onion, chopped finely
-2 tablespoons lime juice
-1 fresh jalapeno, chopped finely

Take the ingredients and mix together and enjoy!
If you like your salsa more smooth and less chunky, pulse the mixture one or two times in your food processor.
